Regional Conferences 2013
Latin America and Caribbean Regional Conference
Iguazu, Argentina

Over 250 judges from Latin America and the Caribbean came together for the 2013 IAWJ Latin America and Caribbean Regional Conference on March 15th and 16th, in Iguazu, Argentina. The meeting was hosted by the Asociacion de Mujeres Jueces de Argentina (AWJA) to allow participants to exchange their experiences and knowledge to advance equality and access to justice for women around the world. 

Topics covered at the 2013 Latin America and Caribbean Regional Meeting included The Politics of the Supreme Court on Domestic Violence, Gender as a Condition of Vulnerability in Access to Justice, Gender Equality in the Election of the Supreme Judicial Body, and Ecofeminism and Justice.

Regional Conferences
The International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ) has member in five different regions of the world; Africa, Asia and the South Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe and the Middle East, and North America.

Every other year these regions have their own biennial regional conferences. These conferences take place on the off years between the IAWJ's International Biennial Conferences and provide the attendees with a venue to discuss issues important to the attendees and the organization, and provide an important networking opportunity.

Asia/Pacific Regional Conference
Auckland, New Zealand

The Asia/Pacific Regional Conference, hosted by the New Zealand Association of Women Judges, was held from May 9th to 12th, 2013, at The Langham hotel in New Zealand's largest City, Auckland. About 160 judges from over 20 countries participated in this event. 

Topics covered at the 2013 Asia/Pacific Regional Conference included culture and human rights, sextortion, alternative court structures, and child exploitation.

7th IAWJ Africa Regional Conference
Abuja, Nigeria

The 7th IAWJ African Regional Conference was hosted this year by the National Association of Women Judges - Nigeria in Abuja from June 27th to the 29th at the Federal Judicial Service Commission Conference Hall. The theme of the African Regional Conference was Gender Based Violence: A Human Rights Violation.

The panels discussions and talks at the African Regional Conference included Look into Sexual Violence Against Children, Gender Based Violence, Access to Justice by Victims and Witnesses, Domestic Violence Restraining Orders, A Key Weapon in the War to Combat Gender Based Violence, and Human Trafficking: A Grave Violation of Human RightsThe Role of Judges.In addition to the panels and talks, some other events at the conference included a dinner and cultural night at the JD Leisure Center, Maitama, a city tour which included a visit to the Nike Art Gallery, the Bwari Pottery center, and a picnic.

Regional Conferences 2015
IAWJ Asia and the Pacific Regional Conference 
​Tagatay City, Philippines
The IAWJ Asia/Pacific Regional Conference, hosted by the Philippines Women Judges Association, was held in Tagatay City, Philippines, from 12-15 May, 2015.

Latin America and Caribbean Regional Conference 
Sao Paulo, Brazil

The «International Seminar of Latin America and Caribbean Women Judges and Women Human Rights» was held in São Paulo, Brazil on October 21-22, 2015 and was hosted by the Brazil Chapter of the IAWJ.

Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Conference
Tunis, Tunisia 
This conference took place from March 27th to 29th, 2015 at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Tunis, Tunisia on the theme “The Independence of the Judiciary and the role of women judges.” Women judges from 8 jurisdictions participated including: Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Morocco, Hungary and the USA. The meeting was held in conjunction with the IAWJ’s ILAC (International Legal Assistance Consortium) MENA program on ‘Strengthening Women Judges’ Capacity to Provide Judicial Leadership on Gender and Access to Justice’.

Africa Regional Conference 
Pretoria, South Africa

The Africa Regional Conference, " Empowering Women, empowering communities: Let’s make it happen,” was hosted by the South African Chapter of the International Association of Women Judges (SAC-IAWJ) in cooperation with the IAWJ. It took place from August 7th-10th, 2015 at the University of South Africa (UNISA) Campus, Tshwane in Pretoria, South Africa.

Latin America and the Caribbean 
Mexico City, Mexico

Hosted by IAWJ-Mexico, the third Latin America and Caribbean Regional Conference is sponsored by the Mexico Supreme Court of Justice. The theme of this conference is "Equality: Through the View of Justice." The conference will focused on: Gender-based violence, migration, treatment of people and cyberbullying.
