Call for Authors

The American Bar Association’s Section of International Law is planning to publish a book to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution’s 19th Amendment which gave women the right to vote. The Section of International Law is inviting women leaders from around the world to contribute a short 7 to 10-page essay about how the right to vote has impacted women and men globally as well as the national and international agenda.

This project accompanies, but is a separate project, from that being undertaken in partnership with the ABA Section of International Law and Lexis Nexis and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems which will involve capturing short video interviews of some women leaders.

If you would be willing to share a 7 to 10-page essay about the impact in your country, please email IAWJ Member, Colonel (USAF, Ret.) Linda Strite Murnane at kmurnane98@aol.com. You may also contact Colonel Murnane with your questions about the project.

The initial draft essays are requested by June 30, 2020. The hoped publication date would be sometime in Fall 2020.
