IAWJ’s 15th International Biennial Conference: “Celebrating Diversity”
May 7 - May 9
Hosted by the New Zealand Association of Women Judges (NZAWJ)
Auckland, Aotearoa, New Zealand | May 7-9, 2021 (NZ time)
If you are from New Zealand, please register here.
The IAWJ Biennial Conference, which was postponed because of COVID-19, will now take place from May 7-9, 2021. As the New Zealand borders will likely remain closed for the whole of 2021, the conference will be virtual for most delegates. It will be live streamed and also recorded and available for registered delegates to view on the conference website until the end of 2021 in English, Spanish and French. Certificates of participation will be issued to registered delegates.
We are incorporating the usual format and components of past conferences as much as possible to make this a true IAWJ conference experience. We will have some very kiwi (NZ) entertainment and there will be virtual networking opportunities throughout the conference.
The conference opens on May 7 with a Pōwhiri (welcome) followed by a discussion about indigenous issues in New Zealand. The educational program, May 8-9, will include our usual glittering array of speakers and diverse perspectives on current and cutting-edge topics. Most of our keynote speakers for the postponed 2020 conference will be joining us virtually and we will have some very interesting panels dealing with topics such as refugees and trafficking, COVID-19, judicial leadership, indigenous issues, different court models and climate change. We have not forgotten the cultural and social aspects of IAWJ conferences. We are aiming to have the full program up soon on the conference website.
The fee for virtual attendance at the conference for IAWJ members is USD 275 earlybird and USD 400 standard. The fee for non IAWJ members is USD 475 earlybird and USD 600 standard. For the registration fees for New Zealanders, please see the conference website. The end of the earlybird period is April 12, 2021.
If you have any questions about the registration process, please email the conference team directly at email@example.com.
We are sure the conference will be a fascinating and enjoyable event!
