Happy International Women’s Day 2019!
International Women’s day is celebrated every year on March 8. With this day comes a time to reflect and celebrate all the progress we have done to improve women’s lives, to support women’s rights in all spheres, and to encourage others to join us in the fight against gender inequality.
As our President, Hon. Vanessa Ruiz said:
“IAWJ is committed to gender equality every day, in everything we do.”
Along these lines, it is our pleasure to announce that IAWJ members will participate on the 63rd Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW 63) and we are proud to partner with UN Women in a new initiative: Equality in Law for Women and Girls by 2030.
Here are some of the events that we are going to attend during the CSW 63. If you are in NYC, we invite you to join us in our journey!
- Our public Parallel event “Courts and Access to Public Services: Global Perspectives from Women Judges.”
- A joint event with IDLO and GQUAL titled “Women Delivering Justice: Investing in Women Justice Professionals for the Achievement of the Agenda 2030”.
- In partnership with UN Women, we will launch “EQUALITY IN LAW FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS BY 2030: A Multistakeholder Strategy for Accelerated Action.”
