IAWJ and CHAIFEJ’s Project Included in US Department of State’s 2019 Trafficking in Persons Report
The US Department of State recently published its 2019 Trafficking in Persons Report. In the chapter on Haiti, the report addresses the program that the Haitian Chapter of the IAWJ (CHAIFEJ) conducted in the country on Combatting Human Trafficking in Haiti, with IAWJ support. Our protect recently had its closing ceremony.
The report states,
The magistrates school, together with the assistance of another government, organized five training events on trafficking involving a total of 81 judges, 30 prosecutors, and 30 civil society actors. The government, together with an NGO on a foreign-funded project, trained 500 judicial, law enforcement, and social work officials throughout Haiti on the anti-trafficking law and its proper implementation over a three-year period.
