IAWJ Past President Hon. Susana Medina de Rizzo was interviewed for Página 12
Argentina | On October 29, the Argentinian news source Página 12 published a great interview with past IAWJ President, Dr. Susana Medina de Rizzo.
In her interview, she highlighted the need for women judges to continue building bridges and closing gaps in order to
“build bridges of communication, solidarity, and the transfer of knowledge, doctrine, and jurisprudence.”
She also highlighted the achievements, and lacks, of Argentina in the area of women’s judges access to leadership positions in the judiciary. In her opinion,
“as long as there are many people in the world that underestimate women’s issues—because that it what it is all about, a patriarchal behavior—women judges are bound to work together on the major issues that concern us: gender based violence and the development of laws that combat it, human trafficking, women’s health and reproductive rights, digital developments in judicial activity, labor inequality, having children, and the international restitution of minors, among others.”
