Judge Felicia Toney Williams is the First Female African-American Chief Judge of the Second Circuit Court of Appeal in Louisiana
The IAWJ wishes to congratulate long-term IAWJ member, Judge Felicia Toney Williams of the United States, for becoming the first female African-American Chief Judge of the Second Circuit Court of Appeal in Louisiana.
Chief Judge Williams has had a very successful career and has been breaking barriers since 1992, when she became the “first woman elected to the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeal.” Moreover, in 2012 she was elected for her third 10-year term unopposed.
In this new role, she has committed to
“work hard to make sure that … [her] court serves the public in the best way possible”.
