National Association of Women Judges – USA Started a New Partnership for their Women In Prison Program

In their June 2019 Newsletter, the National Association of Women Judges – USA (NAWJ)’s District 6 announced a new partnership with the Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC), for their Women In Prison program. The partnership began on July 1.

BPCC affiliated instructors will conduct classes allowing the women to obtain the requisite education to be able to obtain employment in a myriad of different fields upon release from the correctional facility. Such will allow them to be in a better financial position to care for their children and their families.

At the end of June, the association met with the inmates to assess their skills and interests in order to help them target specific career paths. After the review, inmates were assigned to specific courses.
