Tanzania Appoints More Women Judges to High Court of Appeals

On July 14, 2009, IAWJ Vice President Eusebia Munuo reported more good news for the Tanzania Women Judges Association and the IAWJ. Tanzania President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete has appointed 10 new High Court Judges to replace retiring ones. Out of the ten new justices, six are women. The six women justices are Eliamani Mbise, Pellagia Khaday, Sekela Moshi, Fredrica Mgaya, Fatma Massenge, and Hamisa Kolombola.

The IAWJ congratulates all new justices and extends its appreciation to President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete for his continued recognition of the experience and expertise of the women judges of Tanzania.
