The Venue: The InterContinental Miramar

Bank transfers only by individual arrangement. Please add US $20, to cover bank transfer fees.
Registration fees include: conference sessions; refreshments at morning and afternoon breaks; lunch each day; the evening reception; the Gala Dinner; Conference satchel; and the Conference program book.
The Accompanying person fee includes: the evening receptions and the Gala Dinner.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be submitted in writing. A full refund, less a processing fee of US$115, €83 will be available if the IAWJ is notified before 1 January 2008. After this date no refund will be available. Accommodation: Cancellation of accommodation must be made with the individual hotels.
Important information
Attire
Panama City is located at sea level about 8 degrees from the equator. Thus the weather will be warm and humid. Light city clothing is recommended for participants' comfort.
Audio Visual Aids
LCD Data projection for PC or Mac will be available for all presenters. Please bring your presentations on CD-ROM or USB Memory Stick. Should any speaker require additional equipment, please notify the IAWJ at least 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the conference. Technicians will be on hand at the conference to assist all speakers with their presentations.
Silent Auction
Delegates are invited to contribute items to the Silent Auction. Items may be of interest and characteristic of their country of origin and will be displayed on tables for the duration of the conference. Please indicate on the registration form if you will be contributing to this event and let the IAWJ know if your item requires anything other than a table top for display.
Items being contributed by delegates to the silent auction should be delivered to the Silent Auction Room on the afternoon of Tuesday 25th March. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept items for storage before the commencement of the conference.
A delegate may bid for any item by entering her name and the value of the bid on the form beside the item. Bids will be accepted until 5pm on Thursday 27th March and results will be posted in the lobbies of the hotels by 6 PM. Those who have submitted successful bids can collect their items after the last session of the conference.
Simultaneous Translation
English is the official language of IAWJ. Interpretation services will be provided in Spanish and French. Please indicate on the registration form if you will require this service.
Insurance
Participants are advised to make sure they have the appropriate travel and health insurance in place before departure.
Climate
March in Panama is the end of the dry season. Temperatures are warm, with the average maximum daytime temperature 93F/33C and the average minimum 77F/25C.
Currency
The US Dollar is the standard currency of Panama.
Credit Cards
All major credit cards are accepted in Panama.
Immigration
The Ministry of Internacional Afairs will provide visas at Tocumen Airport to all attendants who do not have Panamanian Consulates in theirs countries. In order to receive this attention registrants must to send an e-mail to the Conference Organizing Committee as soon as possible (NOTE: Deadline for visa assistance from the AMAJUP Conference Organizing Committee is FEBRUARY 1, 2008) with their complete name, nationality, date of birth, and passport number. The visa will be available at the Tocumen Airport the day of arrival.

A US$20 cash only exit fee is charged at the airport before visitors depart the country.
Tocumen Airport
The Conference Organizing Commitee in Panama will meet registrants at the airport as needed. Registrants are asked to send their itineraries by email to the Committee's Hospitality Group if they would like to be met at the airport. We will be able to help in Migration and Custum in order to get a priority services.
Time
The time in Panama all year long is the same as the EST (GMT -5). Panama does not observe Daylight Savings Time.

Transportation
COPA, the national airline of Panama, is offering a 20% discount off their fares for conference participants. Limitations to this offer apply. You must purchase the ticket by telephone from COPA, not via Internet. The phone numbers of their local offices are listed on their website at www.copaair.com. Refer to the IAWJ conference and the code number D01523. The IAWJ is not responsible for arranging transportation nor has any control over currently quoted prices.

Social Programme
Tuesday 25th March
The Welcome Reception hosted by the AMAJUP will be held from 7pm on Tuesday 25th at the InterContinental Miramar.
Wednesday 26th March
A reception will be held at 6 PM.
Thursday 27th March
The Panama Canal Authority will be hosting a reception for the IAWJ Conference attendees at the Miraflores Locks at 7:30 PM. Transportation will be provided from the InterContinental Miramar.
Friday 28th March
The Panamanian Judicial Court will host the Gala Dinner at 9 PM at the Miramar Hotel.
