The International Association of Women Judges Welcomes its new Executive Director, Ms. Shawna Wilson
The International Association of Women Judges is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Shawna Wilson as Executive Director.
Shawna brings a wealth of experience in matters at the core of IAWJ’s mission and programs, rule of law and human rights, from her long tenure at the U.S. Department of State and USAID. She was selected for the highly competitive U.S. Supreme Court Fellows program and, from September 2008 to September 2009, worked as a Fellow at the International Judicial Relations Office of the Federal Judicial Center, where she conducted briefings for foreign judges on the U.S. legal system, completed research projects, wrote a handbook, and published multiple articles on the role of the judiciary in international development efforts. Shawna also brings experience from the nonprofit and private sectors, having worked at the Eurasia Foundation and as a transactional attorney at Frost Brown Todd LLC in Cincinnati, Ohio. Shawna has a B.A. in International Affairs and Russian Studies from George Washington University and a J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University. She is a member of the Ohio and U.S. Supreme Court Bars.
