ZAMBIA ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN JUDGES
EQUAL JUSTICE FOR ALL

International Women Judges Day

In solidarity with the global network of women judges in marking this important occasion, we proudly reflect on our shared progress, celebrate our contribution to the administration of justice and renew our collective commitment to the advancement of women within judicial systems and institutions.

As women judges, we have much to be proud of. Our contribution to justice extends beyond the bench. Through leadership in our courts and institutions, mentorship, outreach, legal education and advocacy for more inclusive justice systems, we continue to strengthen the rule of law, uphold the integrity of judicial institutions as well as deepen public confidence in the administration of justice.

Our increasing participation at all levels of the Judiciary not only enriches judicial decision-making but also helps to increase access to justice, particularly for the vulnerable and marginalised. It is often through our work beyond the courtroom that we are able to identify barriers, support reform and promote measures that make justice systems more responsive, representative and accessible.

On this important day, let us take pride in how far we have come and remain steadfast in our resolve to promote the full participation of women at every level of the Judiciary. Let us continue to work together for justice systems that are more inclusive, more equitable and more accessible to all.

Happy International Day of Women Judges.
