Welcome to the commemoration of the 2024 International Day of Women Judges. This year, our focus is on the theme "Empathy and Action: Women and Girls in Carceral Settings." As we reflect on the challenges faced by women within prison systems, we recognize the importance of empathy in understanding their experiences and the necessity of taking concrete actions to preserve their rights.

As we celebrate the International Day of Women Judges, let us reaffirm our commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of all individuals, especially the most vulnerable among us. Through empathy, and proactive measures, women judges are spotlighting the needs of children with incarcerated mothers, ensuring that their voices are heard. Together, let us strive to build a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their circumstances.

• Sharing News and Activities: We encourage members to share any news or activities they have undertaken related to the theme of the International Day of Women Judges with the IAWJ Executive Office. Please submit this information to us by February 26th, so we can highlight and celebrate your contributions. All contributions can be submitted to: communications@iawj.org

• Social Media Engagement: Connect with us on social media by tagging the IAWJ and sharing your perspectives on the theme using the hashtag #WomenJudgesOfEmpathy.
